Having spent over 25 years in IT-Support with the largest of Dutch companies, I felt it was time for me to change focus. In my spare time I dived into the world of webdesign and webdevelopment, only to find out that there was a lot more to explore than I could have thought, especially in building a website.
After making my first moves in HTML and CSS, I enrolled for the “Leergang Webdesign” at Eduvision in February 2009. I was able to taste from the principles of webdesign and the underlying techniques. It tasted great, and it made me hunger for more. So I dug further into PHP, Joomla, JavaScript, AJAX and more, and I have recently produced my first Joomla-extension. The knowledge I had gathered over the years in other IT-areas now proved to be extremely valuable.
In 2010 I started up WideAwake Webdesign to professionalize on webdesign and webdevelopment. My modest achievements in this area so far can be found in my portfolio.
